For better or for worse. Life goes on.

***

So how is J doing? Oh, I'm doing fine.
In fact, I'm coming home from the NWT in about 5 days!
My second shift here has definitely been more relaxing.

The weather has been nice to me for about a week. But it's getting pretty chilly here now. But hey, what do you expect? I'm ~1900 miles up north from home!

So how do you change the fact my room is really cold and the heater smells like burnt paper? You tape the window up with electrical tape and you steal a couple of extra blankets from the supply room.

My friend here says that being here builds character. I told him he was crazy.

But I'm starting to believe it =)

Came across a couple quotes that might interest people : )

“Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced.” - James Arthur Baldwin

“Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have in trying to change others.” - Anonymous

Diavik.

The experience was definitely nothing like I expected. The first week for me was a little rocky. I could hardly communicate with the outside world the first day. I lived in a small room, shared washrooms and showers with every female in that wing. It was cold, dusty, and dry. The food was not normally something I was used to.

Things turned around the following week though. I got the hang of when I was able to call friends and family, and when the internet worked. My small room was nice and cozy, and the shared washrooms and showers were not so bad after all. The weather was much better with sunny warm days. And the food, let's just say, I knew what to eat, and what was tempting that I shouldn't eat!

I realized everyone there was sort of like me. We all had our own lives back at home at the end of a rotation. Quite deceiving when we're always dressed with a hard hat, vest, safety glasses, and our work boots.

The plane ride back was amazing. I felt like I just came back from nonexistence. I was happy to see green, houses, lights, and there was a dark nighttime. When the plane was just about to land in Toronto around midnight, the lights were amazing. CN tower looked so small, yet so tall against all the other buildings. I felt like my heart was fluttering, I haven't seen something so amazing for a long time. At that point, I told myself, I wouldn't mind going to Diavik for 2 weeks again, just to see this sight again. =)

So my conclusion is, I wouldn't mind going again for my last rotation. Would I want to do this for the rest of my life? No.

Trippy.

So I have this problem...
there is no watch that looks good on my tiny wrist.

Don't know what to do. >_____________<
I hate 373. It's boring and tedious. J don't kill me for not starting today either HAHA.

Have to wash the car today and figure out some stuff about tutoring before it's too late =|

Wanna start taking pictures. Maybe this weekend and Niagara? =)

May. 12th, 2008

Tired.

A very tiring weekend.

Swollen eyes, tired legs, just plain sleepy.
And yet again, this weekend I manage to spend more than I should. Bad bad J.
I bought leggings, but I don't even own a lot of tops/dresses that I could wear it with!
O dear. More shopping?! ><

Things to do:

- Buy workboots, thick socks
- BIOL 373 lectures
- Practice for G
- Stop spending so much. o_O

No way...this list is way too short.

Oh A. You are the best.

May. 6th, 2008

Save me. Please.

Work day #2:

Arranging bottles
Dishes
Diluting
Stock Solution
Umm...MORE DISHES?

I'm sick of my job already.

Schedule?

Gotta find a job soon to make my time seem like its more precious. I know that if I dont find a job, time is just gonna ZIP by and bam, I missed a co-op term, made no money, and did nothing but got my WoW character to level 70.

Currently this is my day:
Wake up at 12:30 - lunch break (haha =D)
Shower
Lunch
Work Out
WoW
Dinner
WoW - 5a.m.
Set My alarm for 7:45 - =)
Repeat

Geez. Way to waste time. I have to add 373 DE in there somewhere too. I really don't want to start working, especially since a lot of my friends are on summer right now. Oh well. TIME TO GET THINGS TOGETHER!

And I bought Super 7. Going to win it. And buy a coffee shop =D
